Self confident?

Our realities are intertwined with our parents. If our parents and relatives tell us that we are intelligent, affectionate, kind people, we come to believe and we project that when we talk with other people or interact in any area of ​​life. I still remember when my father told me: You are brave Claudia … you are brave… and I really have been brave! 

When we are children we see the world through our parents and relatives. Unconsciously and consciously, we model behaviors, habits and interests inspired by them.

These experiences are stored in our brain from babies, children, adolescents and finally manifest in our adult life.

Is our personality  the reflection of those experiences that we live through our development and growth? Yes!

Do we come to the world without any memories? Like a blank paper …? No, we dont!

Since we are born, we come to the world with a legacy of information in our brain. This information has been inherited from our parents. 

It is clear that this legacy of inherited information is also complemented by our life experiences. According to Sigmund Freud, a person can understand himself and be understood by others, through their different stages in human sexuality.

But … what is the relation   between self confident and human sexuality? Well, it has relation of Everything and Nothing.

Everything:  Only when I am aware of those painful life experiences that prevented my development and emotional and intellectual growth at a certain time, only then, I can heal and become a fuller person. Healing is a decision of your own, which involves letting go and forgiving, it is not easy but neither is it impossible.

Nothing:  As long as I continue to act automatically in my life, I do not take responsibility for my development.

Self Confident  begins by recognizing  my own decisions, luck or misfortune. Based on my past, the  experiences in my life  marked me  the person that I am today, but that does not It’s enough,  the true act of love begins by  forgiving and letting go.

Let go means, see that person, situation, place, song, smell and not suffer more … It is to breathe deeply … to fill the lungs with oxygen and to exhale let go …

What is Coaching?

A tool for leaders who want to develop other people. It is a powerful and simple tool at the same time.

What is Coaching looking for? It seeks to unlock the internal potential that each one of us has.

To what end? To achieve the desired results in our personal or work life. Coaching is a leadership tool that transforms lives, based on love towards people. If you do not feel love for people, I do not recommend you to be a Coach because you would only kill such a noble and effective tool as Coaching.

“I’m not certified as a coach and then I can not implement a coaching process” that’s a myth …The basic requirement to be a successful Coach is to seek  from your heart the development and evolution of the other person or the Coachee.

Where does Coaching come from? The Coaching was born in the Greek philosophy 470 years B.C. mainly with Socrates who created a method called Mayéutica.

What is Mayéutica? The Mayéutica is an inductive process, based on questions that Socrates made to his disciples, through these questions, Socrates brings to light the answers in his disciples that they already possessed in their interior to solve any problem or situation.

Socrates said, “I can only help you find knowledge within yourself, which is much better than giving you my own wisdom”.

Socrates added “What comes from within is more valid and easier to recognize than what others try to impose on you from outside on any subject of your life”

Later, in the business world, Coaching is introduced in the 70 when Timothy Gallwey realized that the worst enemy of an athlete was his own mind and he developed a series of books to help you overcome blockages and get better performance in theathletes. The method yielded satisfactory results and they began to develop sports schools using the content of their work, called Inner Game or Internal Game.

Later, in Europe, John Whitmore successfully managed to adapt the procedure to the English business environment and gave rise to what is now known as Business Coaching.

Therefore, in the Coaching process there are two roles: The Coach, who is the facilitator, the guide and the Coachee who is the client, that is, who receives the Coaching process.

The Coaching process is the art of breaking down the mental walls of a Coachee with the support of a Coach, that is, the Coach is a facilitator to achieve it.

A Coach is characterized by being a positive and enthusiastic professional, who acts as a guide for his client in the search of his personal evolution. The mission of the Coach is to accompany the Coachee on the road to reach its maximum potential and its best version of itself.

A good coach It has the following characteristics:

1.Good Listener: The Coach gives all the attention to the Coachee when he speaks. To know how to listen is to get out of oneself and get involved in the conversation and information of the other person.

2. Do not be prejudiced: Do not judge or label the behaviors, thoughts or emotions of the Coachee.  Be open-minded and welcome new situations that the Coachee shares.

3. Feel empathy: Understand and identify with the emotions and experiences of the Coachee.

4. Be patient: Give the Coachee the necessary time, do not pressure him to jump to conclusions. Invest quality time with the Coachee.

5. Be discreet: All the information that the Coachee shares with the Coach stays between the two.

The Coachee must reach the Coach moved by their own will, after identifying the areas of his life in which there are areas for improvement.

This is a simple model of Coaching that a Coach can implement with their Coachee, called Model GROW, which was created by Graham Alexander and John Whitmore. The GROW Model has the acronym in English, which means:

Goal. What do I want to achieve? My dream, my ideal state etc.

Reality. Where am I currently? Be aware of my today and the distance to travel between my current situation and my goal.

Options. Identify the options or actions that change the current situation and achieve the goal.

What’s next? When identifying those options, take the decision on the actions to be implemented and evaluate if these actions are closing the gap towards the desired goal.
